uncompromising image-making. Crafted in strictly limited numbers, this set combines timeless design with contemporary performance, created for photographers and collectors who appreciate rarity as much as refinement.
Each ALPA system is a meticulously handcrafted photographic instrument, engineered with Swiss precision to meet the highest standards of professional and fine art photography. The exclusive ALPA Edition Pignons consists of two of our most iconic camera models: the SWA and the STC. In contrast to the standard black anodized versions, this edition features a refined and technically challenging silver finish, demanding a higher level of precision and craftsmanship. This special color is called “Gletscher Silber” (ˈɡlɛtʃɐ ˈzɪlbɐ) meaning Glacier Silver referencing ALPA’s roots in the Swiss Alps.
Partly due to the delicate and time-consuming manufacturing process, the Gletscher Silber Edition comes at a premium price point – one that reflects not only the material effort but also the collectible and exclusive character of this release.
