Interest in Fine Art Photography and Alternative Printing Processes are on the increase. How amazing that only a few years ago a new Austrian Company started manufacturing cameras in 'Larger than Large Formats'.

Lotus View Camera manufactures lightweight field cameras made from cherry wood, high-quality metal, and high-tech material. Available from 4x5" up to 20x24" as well as in metric sizes.

Looking at Lotus View Rapid Field Cameras weight, handling, and focussing possibilities are ideally balanced, which makes them equally suitable for work inside and outside the studio.

Most important features:
The movements are geared by racks and drives made of black Delrin™. For the sizes 4x5", 4x10", 5x7", 8x10", 12x20", and 14x17" reducing frames or panoramic backs are available for switching to smaller or panoramic size. The ground glass frames for landscape or portrait format are interchangeable (excluding panoramic sizes for which we recommend the Vertical Mounting Device). All wooden parts are made from cherry wood, we don't use rain forest wood. Metal parts are made from powder coated or black anodized aluminium or from brass.
Due to the shape and texture of all knobs and levers they are very pleasant to handle.

Designed with Fine Art Photography in mind, hand made sheet film holders & contact printing frames are also available.

Hand made Contact Printing Frames

These are beautifully made to traditional standards in cherry wood, and are considered the finest on the market.
Contact printing frames are especially useful when printing off large format negatives and are the only way of making prints off the largest of negatives, from 11x14 to 20x24 inch.

Used for most alternative photographic processes in which a large-format negative is exposed in contact with a positive carrier:

When placed in the contact printing frame, the negative is brought into direct contact with the printing paper. These are pressed firmly together across the entire surface to ensure high quality print sharpness and quality. During print exposure dodging and burning-in in selected areas may be achieved as with standard print making through an enlarger.

This design is meant for practitioners for whom the existing products are too feeble.
Lotus contact printing frames are manufactured of waxed cherrywood with a split back for better handling (you can check your print without moving it) with anodized black springs and also two aluminium bars where you slip the springs.
The back is covered with dense felt.

A Lotus Contact Printing Frame will last a lifetime and will please the eye as well as your demands for perfect functioning.
