All models of the ALPA form a common, modular platform that ensures full compatibility with the very first ALPA 12 of 1998.

Integrated lenses from 23 to 250 mm focal length, adapters for digital backs, and directly attachable roll-film backs up to 6x9 as well as an extensive range of accessories

complete the system . Such compatibility will also be retained in future.

ALPA  12 MAX -

The ALPA 12 MAX can be used freehand as well as on the tripod. It offers horizontal and vertical shift and allows for extensive stitching. It does this, moreover, without allowing the lens to move, thereby preventing unwanted stereoscopic effects. With the ALPA 0–6° tilt-/swing adapter as well as with some highly interesting software solutions, completely new photographic horizons can be explored. The two integrated shift sleds are mounted on roller bearings that can in no position slide outside of the camera housing. Stability, durability, optimal weight and pleasing size complement each other.

Specially designed for work on a tripod where it allows for max. 70 mm continuously variable vertical shift and - simultaneously - for max. 50 mm continuously variable horizontal shift. In addition and with digital backs there is a uniquely precise stitching facility which makes pictures of more than 100 MP possible. The two shifting sleds never go beyond the closed camera bodyís frame and are guided on roller bearings throughout. Only very limited use has been made of textile materials for the light sealing to minimize the danger of catching and disseminating dust inside the camera body

This scale stick shows you the "X" movement (lateral shift) of your ALPA 12 XY. Especially helpful if you stand in front of your camera (interior situation). The same stick gets used as vertical shift stick (rise and fall) for the ALPA 12 MAX.
